Last Questions
How might things have been different for August if he had decided not to go to school? Would he have had the same amount of growth do you think? What about the the other characters in the book?
If August had not gone to school, I do not think he would have grown as much as he did. Going to school gave him so many oppurtunities to make awesome, supportive friends. Although he went through lots of hard times, he got through them and came out stronger. In the end, he realized that even with his face deformities, he'll always have someone to back him up. As for everyone else, I think August taught them a lot about equalaties, treating people kindly, and what other kids go through. They definately learned a lot and grew as well.
If Auggie didnt go to school, he probably would still be that shy guy with the helmet on. School has helped Auggie by finding him friends, and teaching him how to express his true self. Auggie has learned how to deal with bullies, and other stuff. I dont think he would have the same amount of growth with out school. School really helped him!
It would be different for August if he did not go to school cause he would not have met Summer or Jack or any of his other friends. He probably would not be as social. And i think Jack and Amos would maybe be not as nice as they are now. -Julian

Things would have been diffrent because Auggie would have not have had summer and Jack for friends and would be scared and terrified to go to school for the first time with all these already expirened kids. He would have not had that happy moment of getting a standing ovation and that happy moment from Summer, Jack, Via,Amos and all of his other friends and classmates.
If Auggie didn't go to school then he wouldn't have meet such great friends and he wouldn't have a fun life without his friends that he has right now. If he hadn't went to school no one would have meet a great friend like Auggie. If Auggie didn't go to school he would have a loss of great friend! The other characters would have never meet a great friend like Auggie who has a kind heart

Auggie found new friends, Jack, Summer, Amos, and others. August was very shy before he went to school and wore that astronaut helmet around, and school helped him open up and be more social. August's bullies realized that the looks of other people do not matter, and Jack, Summer, and others found a new friend that showed them a different side to themselves. -Michelle
I don't think he would have the same growth because he learned a bunch of things like people wont care about his face he knows it doesn't matter
