Question for August Pages 215-234

Why do you think Mr. Davenport paused when he Via introduced August?  Surely he had already seen him standing there.

    I think Mr. Davenport paused because he saw August's face and sort of panicked.

    I think that Mr. Davenport paused because he was so freaked out of Auggie's face and he had no idea what to say!

    When people see someone with a deformed face, they obviously think it affects there mind. He probably thought Auggie didn't know how to speak, or would say something wierd. I'm sure Mr. Davenport felt in the spotlight and caught off guard by Auggie's face.

    I think Mr. Davenport was surprised and a bit panicked when he first saw Auggie's face and didn't know what to say.

    I think he paused because he was shocked and surprised. Maybe because he has never seen someone with that same face and is wondering about what happened.

    When ever I see a deformed person I have see before I am always surprised. I think that's how Mr. Davenport felt.
